About us

A Mayo workshop
built for heavy work

Woodstock Welding Services was founded in 2006 and has grown from a local welding and repair business into a fabrication and on-site machining contractor working for wind, marine and heavy industry clients across Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe.

Everything runs from our workshop at Woodstock, Ballindine East in Co. Mayo — press brakes, lathes turning up to 7.5m between centres, 3.5m swing and 20 tonnes, CNC plasma profile cutting, line boring equipment and a 50-tonne gantry crane over the shop floor.

The same tradesmen who build in the shop go out in the mobile units, which is why clients call us for breakdowns at three in the morning as readily as they do for a fabrication package booked months ahead.

Services

Mobile and on-site services

Our mobile units travel with their own power, welding plant and portable machining equipment, so work gets done where the structure is rather than where the workshop is.

  • On-site welding and repairs, day or night shift
  • On-site machining, line boring and milling
  • Emergency breakdown response for plant and production lines
  • Structural steel repairs and modifications in situ
  • Pipework welding and alterations
  • Wind turbine tower, nacelle and base frame works
  • Marine and quayside welding
  • Fully equipped mobile welding units and generators

In-house

Fabrication and machining

Work comes into Ballindine as a drawing, a sample or a worn-out component and leaves finished. Heavy plate, stainless, aluminium — cut, formed, welded, machined and painted under one roof.

Specialism

Wind turbine expertise

Wind is where a lot of our work sits. We weld and machine on operating turbines and in build phase — tower sections, nacelle components, bedplates, base frames and the bespoke steel that keeps a lift or a repair safe. Access, permits and site inductions are part of the job, not an afterthought.

  • Tower section repairs and weld remediation
  • Nacelle and bedplate crack repair
  • Yaw and pitch component machining
  • Base frame and foundation steelwork
  • Lifting beams, access platforms and bespoke rigging steel
  • On-site line boring of pins, bushes and bores

Sectors

Industries served

Different sites, same standard of weld. We work where downtime is expensive and the steel has to hold.

Wind energy

Tower, nacelle and foundation works on operating sites and in build phase, onshore and at port.

Marine & ports

Quayside steel, terminal infrastructure, vessel repairs and heavy mooring equipment.

Construction & civils

Structural steel fabrication, plant repair and major infrastructure packages.

Quarrying & recycling

Crusher and screen rebuilds, wear plate, hoppers, chutes and conveyor steel.

Agriculture & food

Machinery repair, stainless fabrication and tanks for processing plants.

Manufacturing

Production line modification, jigs, guarding and breakdown cover.

Why us

What sets us apart

Nearly two decades of welding, fabricating and machining for clients who cannot afford a second attempt.

Coded welders, properly supervised

Our welders work to procedure on structural, pressure-critical and heavy-section work, with the paperwork to match.

Workshop and road in one team

The same crew that fabricates in Ballindine travels to site, so nothing gets lost between the drawing and the install.

Capacity for heavy work

A 50-tonne gantry, lathes to 7.5m and CNC plasma mean large, awkward components stay with us start to finish.

We travel for the job

Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe — mobilised with our own units, tooling and transport.
